We are hosting the regular session T19 at GDGoC Yonsei.

In apt update, presentations will cover newly developed technologies and tech trends, while the Tech Session will feature talks on technologies of interest from various fields.

✔️ APT Update

  • Organizer Jeon Hyunwoo

He explained, from a developer’s perspective, how the Linux package management system APT automates dependency resolution, security verification, and version control. He introduced the design principles behind APT’s update mechanism that maintain system stability and security, and shared how the Organizer built modular and automated systems to improve this process. The key message was that beyond implementing features, developers play a crucial role in designing sustainable systems and reliable deployment processes.

✔️ Tech Session

  • Back-End Core Cheon Seungbeom

Drawing from real project experience, he shared collaboration challenges and solutions across the planning–development–deployment workflow. Amid unclear requirements, tight deadlines, and conflicting opinions, he emphasized the importance of prioritization and fast decision-making. He highlighted that the core of project success lies not in technology itself, but in communication and problem-solving skills, concluding that developers are not just coders but architects who systematically solve problems.

  • UI/UX Member Yeon Eunseo

She explained that a UX Engineer (UXE) plays a key role in closing the collaboration gap between designers and developers. By translating design mockups into code, UXEs ensure consistency in the user experience and efficient prototyping. Through collaboration examples using Figma, React, and Storybook, she demonstrated how UXEs serve as a bridge that technically implements the designer’s intent. The main message was: “The quality of collaboration is the quality of the product.”

  • UI/UX Core Kang Heeyoung

She discussed how AI is transforming the essence of design and the role of designers. While generative AI automates visual tasks, designers must still handle prompt design, bias checking, and ethical decision-making. She emphasized that AI is merely a tool, and human creativity—rooted in emotional and contextual understanding—remains central. She concluded that design in the AI era must move toward human-centered creativity rather than technology-driven workflows.
